Dr. Vicki Berling
Dr. Vicki Berling is the director of the Enzweiler Building Institute at the Building Industry Association of Northern Kentucky where she administers an apprenticeship-model facility that trains students in the skilled construction trades. Dr. Berling joined the BIA in 2018 after serving as the founding director of the Sullivan University Center for Learning, Northern Kentucky for three years. Prior to Sullivan, she served as the Executive Director of Educational Outreach at Northern Kentucky University for 11 years. In that role, she worked with adult and online students, dual-credit high school students, and students at extended locations. She also directed Norse Advising, a centralized advising hub, for three years. Before NKU, Vicki managed the TAP Program for working adult students at Thomas More College (now University). She came to higher education in 1997 after a successful career in healthcare marketing.
Vicki is heavily involved in both the NKY Chamber of Commerce and the NKY Education Council. She is currently president of the Board of Directors of the Victorian at Riverside, a personal care residence for elderly women, and is a member of the Workforce Investment Board. She is particularly passionate about workforce development and continued education among incumbent workers.
She’s a graduate of Ludlow High School and earned a bachelor degree in public relations from Western Kentucky University. She also holds a Master of Business Administration from Thomas More College and a doctorate in higher education leadership from Indiana State University.
If she’s not working, she’s probably in a Jazzercise class, golfing poorly, cooking, or running after one of her three grandchildren. She is married to Bob Reeves and has three grown daughters.
Rosemarie Gossett
Rosemarie Gossett began her association with Life Learning Center as Volunteer Faculty in 2018 and now serves as their in house staffing expert directing all Job Placement and Employer Relations activities. Responsible for connecting Life Learning Center Candidates and Members with employers in Northern KY and Cincinnati, Rosemarie prepares them to achieve their highest potential by helping them obtain a sustainable living wage position and a pathway to a career. Rosemarie also manages Life Learning Center’s proprietary program “Working for a Better Life”, which equips Candidates with skill sets such as resume building, interviewing techniques, job search and career planning, and how to be a successful and marketable employee after placement. When she is not working with Candidates and Members, Rosemarie builds relationships with employer partners to help them build a talent pipeline and develop strategies for employee retention.
Prior to Life Learning Center, Rosemarie was appointed as Director of Marketing with the Real Life Center, an Atlanta based non-profit, where she was responsible for marketing and branding activities, fundraising, donor development and social media strategies.
Rosemarie brings over 25 years of staffing experience from various leadership roles in the office, industrial, IT and medical industries, most recently as Search Consultant with Adecco, Area Vice President with Randstad Work Solutions and General Manager of MedReps.com.
Rosemarie’s expertise also lies in training and development. She worked for the Atlanta Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games where she was in charge of writing curriculum and training 1,500 volunteers to function as interpreters for athlete press conferences during the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games.
Rosemarie holds a bachelor’s degree in English & German Philology and a master’s degree in German from the University of Pennsylvania. She is fluent in Dutch, French, and German, and conversational in Spanish.
Jamie Johnson
Johnson is the Vice President of Operations at Dorman Products, a leading supplier of automotive aftermarket products. He has 16 years of automotive aftermarket experience and 8 years of military service in both the Marine Corps and Air Force. His educational background is an MBA from the University of Phoenix, BS in Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with an AAS in Engineering Technology from the Community College of the Air Force. He is the founder of a non-profit organization called “Stand With Us” where he passionately pursues solutions to the many impending obstacles to individuals seeking recovery. Efforts have directly resulted in over 60 people returning to the workforce.
Lori Zombek
Lori Zombek since 2015 has been the HR Director for Boone County Fiscal Court. Prior to that, she was the HR director for the Northern Kentucky Area Development District. Her early career was with the Ohio Cabinet for Health and Human Services serving in Children Services Protection, as an intake investigator and then served as the Regional Coordinator of the KY Child Care Assistance Program at NKADD, Workforce Development Department for over 10 years.
She is an avid volunteer and has been on various boards throughout her career. She is currently the President of Learning Grove, serves on the Regional Youth Leadership Board through the Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Boone County Early Childhood Fund Board. She also is part of the Women’s Think Tank through the non-profit Storms Cells. She is a 2014 graduate of the Leadership Northern Kentucky program and the 2005 winner of the Children Inc. Imagine Tomorrow Award. Lori and her husband are also recipients of one of the 2019 Voices of Giving Award from the Cincinnati Planned Giving Council.
She holds a bachelor degree in Psychology and Sociology from West Liberty University in West Virginia and a Master Degree in Public Administration from City University in Bellevue, Washington as well as an HR Master Certificate from Villanova University. She holds HR certifications including a PHR and SHRM –CP.
She is originally from Wheeling, WV and resides in Cold Spring KY since 1998 with her husband, David of 20 years and their dog, Sam.
