Military Veterans Services
Job Matching and Development
Veterans Representatives can conduct an extensive search of the Employment Services Database for candidates for your openings. Our database currently contains over 30,000 active local job seekers. The Veterans Representatives will tailor their screening of candidates to meet your needs.
Free Job Fair Opportunities
The Veterans Representatives coordinate and facilitate many “no cost’ job fairs throughout the year. They partner with local colleges, the U.S. and local Chambers of Commerce, Public Libraries, City Officials and local Libraries to provide these free events. Most of the job fair events are open to the general public; however, some target military veterans and their families.
Tax Credit Identification and Information
The Veterans Representatives can provide you with valuable tax credit information that could save your company thousands of dollars. Veterans Representatives can identify candidates qualifying for special tax credits and provide information on how to apply. Current Veteran Tax Credits Include:
- The Returning Heroes Tax Credit - $2,400 for hiring a veteran unemployed for over 4 weeks, and $5,600 for veterans unemployed for over 6 months.
- The Wounded Warrior Tax Credit - $4,800 for VA Service Connected veterans and $9,600 if they have been unemployed for over 6 months.
Labor market Information
Veterans Representatives can give you an estimated number of candidates available in the area for your specific job openings.
Promote Company Hiring Events to Veterans and or the General Public
The Veterans Representatives can promote any of your local hiring events by emailing alerts out to veteran clients. They can also arrange for your event flyer to be placed in the Career Center job listing seen by walk-in clients who are seeking unemployment and employment services. In order for your flyer to be put in our listings, the job order must be placed through our job services. Like everything we do at the Career Center, there is never any charge to you or your company.
Facilitate Interviewing Sessions at the Career Center Locations
The Veterans Representatives can arrange for interviewing at any of the various Career Center locations in Northern Kentucky: Florence, Covington, The Airport, Williamstown, Falmouth and Carrollton. You need to contact the Veteran Representative at least one week in advance, so the position can be advertised and the interviewing area/conference room reserved.
